Missed a golden opportunity tonight against Bradley. USI had many more quality shots on goal, just couldn’t finish.

Seem to be playing better though. Lindenwood was far superior tonight. This soccer program needs a massive overhaul.

I didn’t get a chance to watch but I tried to follow the stats. It appeared stat wise that is was pretty even, and I was hopeful when USI was up 1-0. Giving up a goal with less than 5 min left in the match was a knife in the back feeling. I was AT LEAST hoping for a tie late in the match. Not sure who, if anyone left on the schedule we can beat. We need a few more D1 level players IMO to compete week in and week out.

I was at the match on Friday night and agree with posts above. Lindenwood was superior but USI did have chances in second half. Lindenwood had a size and strength advantage all over the field that was pretty evident in person.
Our roster does include a lot of local players and they were all-city / all-state players from Evansville and surrounding area. We will need to expand recruiting to the larger cities St. Louis, Indy, Cincy, Nashville, Chicago.
The crowd was a nice size of about 250 and the bleachers seemed pretty full.

Does anyone know if we even had a chance to recruit D1 level players since we just found out we were going D1earlier in the year? I have no doubt we need bigger, stronger and faster players to compete, but I think we are probably playing with most of last year’s players that were recruited as D2. I sure hope we can get some impact players in the off season that will make us more competitive.

We had a few really good chances to win tonight but couldn’t convert. I was at the 2nd half and we matched up pretty evenly with them imo.

321 attendance tonight and I think maybe more than that that didn’t get counted like me and my wife because we got there in the 2nd half. Good turnout though and glad to see that.

I was counting on this one being a win as Chicago State is probably the worst D I athletics program across the board. I don’t see a real good chance at a win for this team going forward.

Hoping for a good crowd. I am going to try to be there. Need some home field crowd to help them get their first D1 win.

It was apparent last night to me that KC had guys that were a step quicker and a bit more skilled. Our offense was to go for the long ball and try to get a one on one. Their offense was planned and skilled and the methodically moved the ball down until they were in our box. As with other USI teams we need some upgrades in talent by next year.

If we lose to 1-5-1 Eastern Illinois I will be really disappointed.

This is a game we CAN win. Not saying we will bin, but this is a team we are capable of beating if we play well. Let’s see how we handle it.
