TeamRankings gives us a 35.6% chance to moving on It really just comes down to whether we play well or if we just show up and half azz it. If we play and shoot well…45% or better…we can win. But, and it’s a big But, we haven’t proven all season we can show up and play 40 minutes of great basketball. How many times have we played well for 25-30 minutes but go dead for a 10 minute stretch without scoring and then we are down 12-15 and end up losing by 3 or 4 points…too many. We have the ability to win tomorrow but ability and execution are two different things. Can we execute? We will see.

Queens University transitioned the same time we did and have won a conference tourney game each year. First year they lost by 1 to the champion at their place. I feel a win tomorrow is necessary to not consider this year a massive failure. But truth be told I’m more excited about the off-season. It won’t be long after we lose where we start finding out who is leaving.

TSU Projected Starters:
G 6’6 205 Christian Brown (12.6 PPG) G 6’2 200 Marcus Fitzgerald Jr (9.3 PPG) G 6’4 205 EJ Bellinger (12.1 PPG) G 6’2 180 Kinyon Hodges (10.0 PPG) C 6’11 300 Jason Jitoboh (9.8 PPG)
Pretty much the same starting lineup we faced against them in the previous 2 matchups. Their starters are balanced and dangerous, so anyone could go off if they wanted too. If their big guys gets in foul trouble, they pretty much have no one to replace him. Jones, Shanks, and Williams are the guys that come off the bench.

Mid-day with Mike is putting on pretty nice coverage of the OVC Tournament. I just wish they would give this sort of coverage to USI throughout the season.

I’m 6-4 260 and have usually been one of the biggest guys in the room when I go places, but he makes me look small standing near him. We really needed Hittle to counter him tonight, but KP and Causewell are going to have their hands full guarding him. If they both get in foul trouble he is going to have a big game. Bottom line is we have to shoot well or it’s season over for the men. Women have a much better chance obviously of getting a win.

Right now we are playing much harder than TSU. They will mail it in if we can keep this close.
