As always, there will be some good openings in big boy conferences as soon as this season is over. My thoughts are that Schertz will be offered at least a few of those. I’m curious to see if he takes one and if he is able to persuade 2-3 of his current players to go with him. Avila and Swope could play P5 ball along with a few others for them. If he does leave, ISU will be down considerably next season imo. I’m sure ISU will do what they can to keep him there but they can’t offer P5 level money. It would be hard to turn down anything over 1 million per season. From a selfish standpoint as a USI fan, I hope he moves on since we have to play them the next two seasons. Domino effect in the head coaching ranks will be quite interesting this year. Ohio State getting the early start as I imagine they are already working the back channels for their next coach and they will be coming with a truckload of money and a very lucrative NIL war chest for the next coach.

The domino effect is always interesting, and may affect the OVC. Preston Spradin should warrant strong consideration somewhere. If I am MO State and can Ford, he would be on my short list. At the start of this year to lose your best player and not miss a beat just shows you how well his system works. Even when Murray State and Belmont were in the league, his teams stood up to them pretty well

He’s a great kid, met his parents last year and he’s a chip off the ole block. Kids like this you win with. Hard nosed, character and someone who leads by example.

With UT-Martin's victory over Morehead State, suddenly OVC has a race. WIU, UT-Martin, ULR trail MSU by one game. Will Morehead hang on??? UT-Martin's talent is coming alive,ULR is hot, WIU has been pretty consistent. I have not checked yet as to what final games look like but it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Did anyone see that UE was on sports center top ten last night? Wasn’t positive for UE though as UIC player drives down the lane over their Big Ben and slammed it right in his face. It was the number 2 play of the night. Impressive dunk since Ben is 6-9 and a wide body.

Night, night NCAA. It’s OVER:
BREAKING: Tennessee and Virginia have won their preliminary injunction against the NCAA.
Booster-funded NIL collectives now can communicate with high school recruits and transfer portal players in the two states.

It really is….I am old enough to remember when giving a kid a hot dog was illegal. Now BOOSTERS can call high school kids and begin discussion on pay to play.
