Is it just me or did I see the IUPU-Indianapolis player tripped on his own feet to get the pk?

Men take a loss 3-1 at IUPUI. Not great, but hey they beat UE 2-1 at UE. UE is supposed to be pretty good this year. I sure hope we can beat some OVC teams this year.

There is something to think about. If our goalie did not mishandle to ball on the first goal and if the referee did not call a pk when the IUPU-Indianapolis player tripped over his own feet the game would have ended in a 1-1 tie

I watched the first half and IUPUI dominated, not even close to the same level of talent. With Mitchell I am assuming being out for the year, this season is going to be very long for the boys.

With the exception of 2-3 years, this coach has had a lot of losing seasons. Overall I believe his record is a few games above .500, which other than last year was D2, where we dominated in many other sports. I am not a soccer specialist by any means, but I just don’t think he is the best we can do. As I mentioned before, there is surely a better option with so many soccer programs out there with assistants that would love to coach a D1 team. I looked up his record. 111-108 -27 after this season it will drop under .500.

That’s the only way to build a program that is really at the bottom. Complacency will only lead to more bad results.

Totally agree. As a mid major program, we will be a stepping stone for young coaches. That’s ok if we can get a young coach in here to turn the program around and make it more attractive for others to want to be. I’m thinking something like what Bruce was able to do with the basketball program in the mid 90s.

I’m thinking something like what Bruce was able to do with the basketball program in the mid 90s. Murray State basketball has been a revolving door for coaches moving their way up. And it hasn’t hurt them one bit. Yes, last year was a set back but that is only because 3 players left to go the Power 5 schools. A stepping stone isn’t a bad thing. Mediocrity on the other hand is a program killer….

Jackson Mitchell broke his tibia and fibula.
That is a big hit to this season but more importantly we wish him a speedy and successful recovery.
Really hate to hear this news for this young man.

It was a brutal shot and I immediately feared for the worst. This is a long and tough recovery and I feel very bad for that young man, who always plays his ass off.

I do admit the coach is most likely in the hot seat but lets give him 1 to 2 years to see what he can do. I am glad the volleyball team won today but I still think firing Randi Raff was to quick. Randi did not even get a chance to recruit D1 players

He hasn’t been very good.

USI goes with another goalie and same meat head mistake, already down 1-0. How can you be a goalie if you can’t catch a simple pop up?

And another stupid goal just literally given away. It is going to take a complete overhaul to fix this mess. Good lord….
