At the request of a fan, here are the soccer fields of the OVC. First up, USI Strassweg . Seating capacity 500/grand stands.

Lindenwood plays their home soccer at their football stadium. Seating capacity 7500. While they obviously have a huge capacity for fans, I am not a big fan of using football stadium for soccer because with a few hundred fans it seems like a ghost town in the stadium. USI might only seat 500, but when they get 3-400, it feels like a good atmosphere. But, Lindenwood is very nice, so I give them credit for having a nice facility even if its a football field first.

Ralph Korte Stadium, SIUE. This is one of the better soccer stadiums - not being football also - 4000 seats. Very nice for an OVC school to have something like this.

Houck Stadium, SEMO. As you can tell, it also serves as their football stadium. Very nice facility with seating for 11015. Im sure it feels deserted for soccer though since they probably get a few hundred fans for a soccer match.

Since I am NOT an expert in soccer. If there are any USI soccer fans out there that have NOT signed up to be a member on this board yet, please sign up and offer feedback. Many of us would like to know more but I am not in the loop to get info on soccer and the local media rarely talks about college soccer.

Subtle upgrades to the Strassweg. It’s a start. I noticed UE has these banners around their soccer field too. Glad we are trying to improve even if it’s just small things.

Moving the Soccer Field where the intramural football field is now is a GREAT idea! This would put the soccer field right next to campus housing and much more accessible for students. Plus it will create some energy on campus with more activity close to housing.
Then move the softball field where soccer field is now to get it much closer to campus for better student access.
I'm a big believer in on campus sports facilities that can create a buzz with more activity.
