It sucks to lose but come on, we just took the 2nd best team in the conference to the wire down two and that last call against us sealed their win. Are we great, no. But we are in every frigging game. I agree we are 1-2 players away from being a .500 team. McCord injured and Tilmon gone…that did us in this year. To say the program is in real trouble is just false. I was at the game and it was an unbelievable atmosphere. I think everyone that follows USI knows about Tilmon and McCord and gets it. We may only have 5 wins but we don’t play like a 5 win team. Most 5 Win teams get their ass kicked by 20-30 points every game…that’s not us. Do I hate losing, hell yes I do. But I’m going to support them til the end because that’s what loyal fans do. And the blessing for us this year is the women are incredible and tearing it up. It’s just a total rebuild this year for the men. If they are like this again next season I’ll be concerned…but I’m not now because we all knew this was going to happen when we lost our top 6 guys from last year. It is what it is. I’m over getting stroke level blood pressure because I understand this is not our year.

I’m over getting stroke level blood pressure because I understand this is not our year. All of this completely true. All of us USI diehards have high standards...and still do. That will never change. But this is the price we pay for all of what he had hoped would happen some day - USI playing major college baskeball. Right now it is what it is. Year 2 of transition D1 basketball. It's a bullet you cannot dodge. Yes, we have concerns for sure - just like all other basketball programs. It's hard sometime to see all the positives when you have a crappy record. As mentioned earlier, if Tillmon and McCord would have been playing we would not have lost many of those close games. Not the time to press the panic button - at all. I understand the frustration. But I think most of us saw this coming - we lost the entire nucleus of our team from last season. We (I will say at least I) overvalued the recruits that came in. We are going to be better next season. And if some of the present team want to hit the portal, be my guest. We obviously need upgrades everywhere. I do hope AJ and KP stay, and certainly Milke and Campion will be back.

I saw that too. I also went to their message board and a few on there commented about how nice the SEA was and about how they predict USI men’s basketball will be a threat most years in the conference. It’s nice to read and hear from others outside the Evansville area because they don’t have local bias. Every fan I’m talked to from our competition always raves about how nice the SEA is for our level of D1. Most lower level D1 schools just don’t have a place this nice. The only thing I would like to see one day is the advertising ribbon board go around the arena between the lower and upper deck. There is already a nice boarder there now so it will be easy to add. That will give it just a little extra touch that you find in municipally owned arenas. Other than that, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Completely agree about the ribbon...how cool would that be. Would be nice to see a big donation come through for that. Heck, if an organization would come forward give them naming rights for the SEA for the next ten years.

I would love a ribbon, that would be a nice touch for local advertisements. Also I think SEA is better than some High Major programs too. Stanford’s arena looks like a tone down version of SEA with a few more seats. cloudfront-us-east-2.images.arcpublishing.com/reuters/HT4BMMXH3FN7ZD7SFUL5IPNMBQ.jpg

Oh I would change things like OVC championship banners and NCAA Division I tournament banners hung up

Well, once we win those, then yes. But we don’t have them…yet.
