It doesn't make up or excuse the embarrassment last night, but USI is not playing with a full deck. I know I have said before. But you see it every game they play. Again, that is not an excuse...we just have to be better than what we were yesterday. That is a new low I hope we never see again.

To say I am disgusted is an understatement. Deflated and demoralized might be better. This should not have happened...not now, not against the team we were playing. Something is really wrong. Stan can be mad all he wants but that doesn't change anything. At this point, I don't care if anybody does not return. Wholesale changes should start now... And the coaching staff needs to be put on notice. One more garbage year like this and it’s time to get a new staff.

This year has been the worst since Lionel Sinn days before Bruce arrived and changed USI into a basketball school. I’m hoping it is just a fluke year due to losing half our team last year and then batting zero on every recruit we brought in this year. To be honest, I would be ok if only 3-4 guys return from this team. And even with that, they probably need to be role players and not starters if we want to be a top tier team in the league. Recruiting better score some major players or I think staff could be shown the door at year end next year. We just don’t have enough studs in the barn this year, but that’s on the staff that brought them here. I don’t want that for Stan but this is a competitive business and you have to produce to survive.

I don’t want that for Stan but this is a competitive business and you have to produce to survive. This is it right here. When we moved up from D2 the byproduct is it’s no longer acceptable to be comfortable. If you are going to double your cost to your product, you better expect better results. All programs that stink now need to be on notice. The winners will rebound and push themselves to do better. We have seen evidence of that already. The question is can they do better? One more year should be enough in basketball to prove you are capable. I guarantee there are plenty of potential coaches out there that believe they can win and win early at USI in this league.

I just looked at the record books and you have to go back to 1975 to find a USI team with 8 or less wins. Wayne Boultinghouse won 6 games in the 74-75 season. Wow, we are on par to have THE worst record in almost 50 years. I understand it’s not truly apples to apples but still not a record I want to see us achieve. If we don’t come out Saturday with a fire then heads are going to roll in the locker room. Even Sinn had 10 wins in his last season so we are in some all time low territory.

We will end with 9 wins tops now. And backing into the tournament on the backs of 3 straight losses is a bad look. I want to see one more game, but if we don’t win Saturday I would prefer the season to end. Move on and see what happens. If we play remotely as bad as last night, 10 teams in this conference would have beaten us 20+ points.

Attachment DeletedCongrats to Jack for picking up student athlete of the week award. Everyone that knows Jack agrees he is one of the smartest guys of any athlete at the university and is a great representative of USI.
