Harry calls the SEA spectacular. I agree. While not the biggest by seating capacity it offers the close up views and hostile atmosphere. Everything about the SEA is spectacular. Not one single bad seat in the house, Very good sound system and scoreboard. I would love to see a electronic ribbon go around the arena some day. But concessions are conveniently located (with good prices), a place to buy USI shirts and hats. This is not to mention just how great the parking is and how easily accessible it is to get to USI. Lots of great nearby places to eat either before or after the game. There are some who wish it had been bigger, but I am not one of those. Once USI starts averaging anywhere from 3500 to 3800 per game it will feel like 10,000. It's just a great place to be - much better than the hockey arena downtown.

The price is the best thing we have going imo. For myself and my 2 daughters i think I spent under $50 bucks for food drinks and tickets. Just cant beat that nowadays for some family fun.

It’s the perfect size for the market we are in. The stands sit right on the court, seats are comfortable, good amenities. I took a long time Saluki fan to the game last year and his first comment was this place was better than the SIU Arena to watch a game.

I too am hoping they put electric ribbon around the arena. The design of the arena is perfect to put it between the lower and upper bowls. This would also give it the feel of a bigger arena, but imo that’s the only thing that would make it better. My seats are row 4 dead center and I’m so close to the action I feel like I’m in the game. That’s my favorite part of the SEA. I also love that the varsity club room is located within the arena and overlooks the floor. I usually go there before the games and at halftime to grab a drink and socialize.

I took a good long time friend and UE fan to see a game last season and he loved the SEA...could not get over how close he felt, despite being in the upper deck. He was also surprised at the affordability of ticket prices and the concessions. But most of all he was surprised how a first year D1 team was as good and entertaining as they were. He has continued to see some other games as well. I write this in part to state USI still needs to find ways to get the attention of the casual fan, and to our alumni. We have a great product. Make coming to the SEA a great experience - it would really add a lot if the pep band can be present for every single game (regardless if they cannot play for the woman's game).

Second that for the pep band. Men’s Basketball is the single driving force for why USI was able to consider and ultimately decide to move up to DI. It’s common sense to cater to the only cash cow you have. Get it done or step out of the way!

Winning brings in casual fans. Maybe if USI can start a rivalry with Indiana State or Southern Illinois it will bring in casual fans. Good press will bring in casual fans. USI fans recruiting people will bring in to games will bring in casual fans.

All of that true. Many ways to attract casual fans. Winning definitely helps but reaching out is important to...coaches need to be shaking some hands, visiting with fraternities, and talking with who is ever is willing to listen. I think we will see rivalry games (already have some with ISU and SIU), but would like to see teams like Murray State and possibly Western Kentucky. I have a lot of confidence if USI can get some of these 'casual fans'to come, many could turn into passionate fans as ourselves.

We need a KWC or Bellarmine. A team the fans just love to hate.

I would love to see a few meet and greet events at restaurants or bars in Evansville. Agree that our coaches need to be out shaking hands and personally be inviting fans to come out to a game…..or 13. Someplace like Buds on the west side and maybe have some USI basketball t shirts made up and sell for 15 bucks while there. Have photo sessions with coaches and players. All this just helps the Evansville community get to know the team and that gets fans to come to games. If they do this, make it public and have Anthony tweet it and put articles in the courier leading up to the date so people know about it. Have parents bring kids and get pictures taken with coaches and players and give them a USI promo item. Just my thought….
Hacienda west would be good too as it’s always crowded so people will be there anyway.

The trouble I have right now is that I don't "hate" any of our OVC rivalries....I actually like them (but I admit, SEMO has a reputation of being whiners). I will say the only team I do not want to lose to ever is Lindenwood.
Our biggest rivalry game, conference or nonconference game) is always going to be Indiana State. IMHO.

There is no Bruce Pearl out there.
