USI looked gased today and it showed in their shooting percentage especially from 3. 2 for 11 from 3. Just not a good day for USI, but they are clearly a better team.

Well that was ugly. Cinci ends up shooting 39 free throws. Wow. That will be the best team we play all year so let’s regroup and win some home games and we can compete in OVC games once conference starts. Cinci just had too much size, speed and depth. They will be a big 12 team next year so they are gearing up for better competition also. It is what is is, let’s just compete against the mid majors now.

I believe Coach said on the coaches show we play Cincinnati at the SEA next year as well.

If they play here they don’t win by 40. Maybe 25 though. They are going to be a challenge for USI even next year at home.

Tech is going to be good. Lindenwood is terrible so now sure how they stayed that close. Everything went right for Cinci today and not much for USI. We don’t usually shoot 18% from 3. We don’t usually give up 39 free throws. Cicnci hit 9 3 Pointers. It was their day. We are better than what we showed today. Still Cinci is better team, but we made them look like ucon today.

I'm hoping this game serves as sort of a wake up call for the team with regards to strength and conditioning when playing back to back games against high caliber teams. I saw a lot of similarities between today's game at when I was watching them play in the GLVC tournament last year. We came out strong in the game against SW Baptist on Thursday and then in the game against Lewis on Saturday we looked tired and shot very poorly.

Lack of athleticism on the perimeter is a big, big issue. Need to hit the JUCO circuit and bring in at least one impact guard transfer next year.

Personally I think our biggest problem this year is lack of depth. Out top 7-8 are solid imo, but then there is a massive drop off in talent. When we have to play back to back games and go deeper into the bench we suffer. It showed today. Agree though, we need a big and fast point to play against the upper part of D1.

Yes, depth is a problem too. And with Stein having a full roster he wasn’t able to bring in any D I quality depth.

8th place is a disappointment for what this team should be at this point. 4 games come to mind that we had double digit leads but ended up losing. They need to learn how to put the nail in the coffin when they build a big lead. They are is danger of not making the OVC championship if they don’t turn it around soon.

The positive is that 5 of our next 8 games are against the bottom teams in the conference.

Lindenwood is just awful and will most certainly finish last. Got to think USI can beat one team in this league. I got to be bluntly honest here, the quality of play in this league isn’t all that much better than the GLVC.

Agree. I think Drury would finish 1rst this year if in the OVC. But, I mean we are still 100% playing with our same team as last year and we are pretty even talent wise with most of the teams in th OVC this year. We really only need a few athletes to make us a yearly contender for top 3 every year in the conference imo.
